8r4d #running this morning was probably the most #winter run of the season for me so far. I’ve been ditching lately because of a nasty cold and all that recent snow. But 9k in the frosty air reminded me why I love this season.

8r4d A chilly morning #running off the 201st edition of our local #parkrun also turned into a milestone for AD. The #rivervalley looks chillier than it actually was tho, as e had a bit of a weekend reprieve from the brutal #winter cold.

8r4d Uh oh #winter #running had officially begun. We hit the suburban trails for a ten-ish klick run on the first really chilly morning of the season

8r4d The creep factor was raised to about a nine point fine for this evenings #running adventure. Dark, chilly and #autumn but without the comforting glow of an early snow to make it seem less haunted.

8r4d Thanks to a minor foot injury I haven’t been out #running in about two weeks and sadly missed the last couple #autumn run opportunities of the season. Now the first snow has arrived and the temperatures have fallen and it seems like winter running season is here again. We locked in a simple #10k through our fallback winter route. Sigh.

8r4d #running this evening felt very #autumn and once again we were back to needing headlamps and jackets—tho I managed to forget my jacket. Brr!

8r4d In mid October the temperatures are starting to fall as fast as the leaves from the trees, but the trails are just clear enough to tease out one last pre-winter run. #running #runcrew #autumn

8r4d Our regular Thursday #runcrew #running adventure was diverted from our usual Mill Creek routine and instead we did a chilly six through Blackmud Creek as the #autumn #sunset hit some groovy vibes.

8r4d Our #autumn #runclub night was an orange delight and we tackled about 8k of asphalt #running as the sun set and blew up the colours. Oh, and it’s getting chilly out there folks!

8r4d #flashback to #chicago #marathon 2023 because I’ve been meaning to repost some of the pics that got lost from this site when I got hacked last spring. It was a year ago this weekend that we did our little #running #travel adventure to the windy city to run the Chicago Marathon after years of deferrals. Technically the race was October 8th and Thanksgiving weekend back in Canada (which is next weekend) but dates, memories, blah, blah, blah, I’m calling it this weekend and today as the one year anniversary of my last marathon. It was a blast, but I think I’m sticking to shorter distances from here on out.

8r4d #flashback to #chicago and travelling there on our #running adventure for the 2023 Marathon. Travelling with friends is always a blast and hitting the tourist highlights in the days leading up to the race was pretty sweet: deep dish pizza, downtown, the pier, and all over town for food and sights. I can’t even begin to post all the great things I saw without about ten posts of flashbacks, so this small collection will have to do on the one year anniversary.
